History and Meaning of the Lamborghini Symbol, the Bull of Sports Cars

Lamborghini is one of the most iconic supercar brands in the world, with types such as the Hurracan, Aventador, Gallardo and Urus that may already be familiar to the automotive world.

The first logo appeared in 1952 and consisted of a triangle, each of the three corners of which included the initials 'Ferruccio Lamborghini Cento'. However, due to the lack of knowledge about graphic design at that time, the three were represented with three different fonts.

Only in 1959, the owner's desire and knowledge encouraged Lamborghini to expand its production in the helicopter sector. Unfortunately the Italian government at that time did not approve of this plan and Lamborghini decided to dedicate itself to producing sports cars.

This event marked the birth of "AutomobiliFerruccio Lamborghini SpA" officially founded in 1963 in Sant'AgataBolognes (Bologna). The success behind the brand is their partnership with designer Bertone and jet engine designer Bizzarrini. Meanwhile, the creation of the logo (which is also used on the tractor) was assigned to Paolo Rambaldi.

The founder of Lamborghini, Ferruccio Lamborghini, chose the Bull logo because he was born on April 28, 1916. According to zodiac calculations, on that date his zodiac sign was Taurus. This is the basis for choosing the image of a bull as the symbol on cars made by Lamborghini.

This is the basis why the image of a bull was chosen as the symbol on all Lamborghini cars. This logo reflects Ferruccio Lamborghini's zodiac sign and gives a personal touch to the brand.

Apart from that, the use of the bull character also symbolizes aggressiveness, represented by his fighting stance in a red shield with black contours. Ferruccio's passion is depicted in the logo and Lamborghini cars derive this style from the famous bullfights in Spain.

Not only the image of a bull, the choice of gold in the Lamborghini logo also has its own meaning.

Ferruccio Lamborghini believes that the color gold reflects consistency, strength and courage. These are the attributes that Lamborghini wants to instill in every vehicle it produces.

The shape of the Lamborghini symbol depicts a shield and shows a bull snorting in gold. This symbolic symbol is the same as other car logos. This bull represents consistency, patience, and strength. Contrary to several other Italian 'patriot' manufacturers, Lamborghini does not use Italian colors on the Lamborghini emblem.

In 1972, the Lamborghini emblem was restyled. Lamborghini's name is written again in capital letters, inserted into the shield in a yellow rectangle. However, sometimes the Lamborghini emblem is often displayed in writing on the outside of the shield in Universe Black Oblique font.
